Supported by UNICEF, my colleagues Haris Čalkić, Budimir Željko Keko and I have organized and lead creative photography workshops for children with and without disabilities and children from minority groups during second half of 2014. We have been working in six communities in Bosnia and Herzegovina, mostly ones affected by catastrophic floods in May 2014. We reached Zavidovići, Doboj, Bijeljina, Odžak, Trebinje and Modrički Lug. The aim of the workshops was to introduce photography as a form of expression to children and teach them how to interpret the world around them through visual art. We talked a lot about life, feelings, love and understanding and got rewarded with beautiful photographs they made. Their value is immense as they give us deep insight into their everyday lives of these children and their families. Many of them continued practicing photography and letting us know their progress.
The exhibition of their photographs will be held as a part of photography festival “Photography of the Year in Bosnia and Herzegovina”. Come to the opening and meet the children who made these brilliant photographs.
